FitnessCompared is the new way of buying fitness equipment in the UK - a better way. One where you get to see choose, compare and negotiate in a few clicks
It’s turned the traditional way of buying fitness equipment on its head - no more time-consuming negotiating with sales people, no need to arrange multiple meetings and no more uncertainty about whether you have managed to get the best price
Our process is similar to a tender, except much faster and more efficient for buyers and suppliers
You can select the equipment that you would like to compare and instantly view quotes from those suppliers who fulfill your specification. You can adjust the specification and review further categories until you have what you need. We also offer a free consultation to assist you with the design, equipment selection and customer experience you want to deliver.
Once you’ve finalised your equipment spec, you can compare suppliers by price, lead time, product type, value added extras and reviews and negotiate directly with each supplier. All that’s left then is to confirm your order by placing a deposit of 10% or sending a purchase order. The suppliers will then contact you directly to discuss your order, colours, lead time and access details for the installation.
Your contact information is only shared with the equipment suppliers during the negotiation process, when you have chosen to discuss your needs with a supplier, so avoiding any unwanted sales calls.
Best of all, it’s a completely free service to use (up to the point of ordering of course!)
Buying new gym equipment can be exciting, but can also be very time consuming.
At FitnessCompared, we know gym operators are busy and don’t always have time to meet with multiple equipment suppliers. The gym operators know their gym and clients best and will have a good idea of the sort of equipment to buy for their gym. FitnessCompared enables gym operators to generate multiple proposals within a few minutes based on exactly what equipment they want, not what equipment the supplier wants to sell you.
You are always in control of the equipment that you want and we can guarantee the best discount levels for orders made through FitnessCompared. In return, we provide suppliers with a large volume of sales which makes them very happy.
We are committed to securing the best deals for our users, while providing an easy and enjoyable fitness equipment buying experience
There are a number of reasons for this
Never - this is a free service for buyers. The only costs are when you buy products from our suppliers.
Most suppliers require a deposit to confirm the order. Placing a deposit shows your commitment to the supplier even if the final order spec changes and the order value goes up (or down). Also some suppliers may require a different deposit, they will discuss this with you during the negotiation and order process.
The deposit can be paid using a credit card, bank transfer or by official purchase order, directly with the supplier. An official purchase order can either be for the 10% deposit or for the full order. The size of the deposit may vary from supplier to supplier.
The balance is paid directly to the supplier either by bank transfer, credit card or using equipment finance. Most suppliers have their preferred leasing provider and will be happy to arrange equipment finance for you when the deposit is received. The supplier will take up the communication once the deposit is received
Yes, your order is directly with the manufacturer and all warranty claims will be directly with them. You will need to confirm what the standard warranty is with the manufacturer at negotiation stage. For Cardio and Strength this is often 2 years parts and labour as standard but it does vary between manufactures.
You can cancel the order in line with the cancellation policy from each supplier. You will be entitled to a refund of your deposit less some cancellation costs. Please review the Buyer T&C's for more information.
This is important to emphasise - yes you can! Once you have paid your deposit and are confirming your order with the supplier, you are able to make changes so long as the overall order value does not drop significantly. There are many reasons why a buyer would want to change their order after placing their deposit. All suppliers will be flexible at this point and will be happy to discuss any changes to your order and the final price. The remaining balance of the order (Usually 90%) will be adjusted accordingly and dealt with by the supplier. You do not need to inform us of any changes to the order
We strongly recommend that you speak to equipment finance companies prior to placing your order. If you have a poor credit score or are a new start business (trading for less than 3 years), securing finance can be more difficult than for established businesses. If you cannot secure finance and have no other means of paying the balance to the supplier, your order would be cancelled and deposit refunded less our costs
There are options for new and refurbished equipment. The refurbished equipment is direct from the manufacturer and therefore carries a full manufacturer warranty to give you peace of mind
Easily. Sometimes it’s nice to have someone to speak to on the phone or ask a quick question to. You have a number of options: You can arrange a free consultation to discuss you requirements and equipment specification - simply book a slot via the calendar symbol. You can chat to us via the 'Chat' function or you can fill in the enquiry form and one of our team will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Buyers can ask suppliers for a Discount Code at any point of the negotiations or even prior to using the website. Discount codes are agreed terms between a buyer and supplier regardless of the size of the order. Without a discount code, suppliers will calculate their level of discount based on the potential order value. Discount codes will factor in discount off the list price and any other incentives that a supplier is willing to offer to win your business.
Yes, if the buyer requests a value-added code on the basis of a large order, then the buyer significantly reduces the order volume. The supplier would have the right to reject the discount code if they felt the order value had dropped to a level that did not warrant the additional incentive
Suppliers will set the expiry date of the Discount Code, so there is no set minimum and maximum for this.
Yes, this may be possible. The added value incentive is a cost calculation that the suppliers make to include as part of the overall package. If there is another value-added incentive that you change your mind to, it would be a calculation the supplier would need to make to decide if the change is possible within the overall deal
We have gone to extensive lengths, working with the senior management teams of all the suppliers to ensure the FitnessCompared platform is used to get the best industry prices. We have a sophisticated data analytics programme sitting behind the website to monitor the comparison searches for each supplier and we track the orders and feed this information back to suppliers. Before the FitnessCompared website went live we extensively tested the pricing with buyers and advised suppliers on their pricing and how they compared to their competitors. We gave all suppliers the opportunity to revise their prices prior to the site going live to the market
We feel it is important for fitness professionals to share their experiences about suppliers and equipment using the Net Promoter Score. A review system elevates the importance of value for money, customer service and product quality rather than focusing on price. Our evidence shows that FitnessCompared customers want best value, rather than always the cheapest.
The 6 categories suppliers can be reviewed on are:
With a verified account, It is possible to leave feedback and reviews for suppliers even if you have not made a purchase through the site.
We also feel that suppliers should be able to express their experiences with buyers. This will assist suppliers in their assessment of buyers especially for the Discount Codes. The review is based on how much equipment they order; how often they order; how easy they are to deal with; how quickly payment is made. This is a 1-5 star system and suppliers can only rate buyers after an order is delivered.
Pricing usually comes down to build quality, durability, reliability and residual value. Also some suppliers may be more competitive at different times of year or be trying to gain market share by offering higher discounts. Ultimately, the decision depends on what you consider the most important factors for choosing fitness equipment. Who is your target audience, what is the local competition, what is the experience you are trying to create? Do you want a cheap purchase price or do you want a lower long-term cost of ownership? Some supplier’s equipment will last 10+ years and still retain good residual value even after 10 years. Others have next to no residual value after 5 years.
If you require assistance with your equipment selection, we offer a free consultation service. We are here to help!
We have an excellent trade-in partner WeBuyGymEquipment.com who can arrange the best trade-in prices for your old machines and co-ordinate the collection prior to the delivery of the new equipment.
The price negotiations are valid for 30 days, although the pricing will be available on the website and increases will be at the discretion of the suppliers, who usually have an annual price increase of around 1-2% of the list price
FitnessCompared is independent from any of the equipment suppliers featured on the website, so we are completely neutral and in no way preferential to any company featuring on the website.
There is no catch! We love the fitness industry and we want to help people buy fitness equipment in a quick, simple and fair way
The suppliers we work with are able to offer great deals in return for the volume of sales & high-quality customers we provide them. The prices you see are the prices you pay.
We want FitnessCompared to become to No.1 place to buy fitness equipment
